Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission meets Oct. 25 in Havre Montana’s Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission will meet Oct. 25 at the MSU Northern Applied Tech Center in Havre beginning at 8:30 a.m. The FWP Commission will make final decisions on the: · 2008 non-resident combination license rule; · 2008-2011 fishing regulations; · extension of leases for the Ruby River FAS near Alder and the Little Muddy Creek FAS near Cascade; · water-right agreement to maintain in-stream flow in Lazyman Creek, 40 miles south of Sheridan; · Fishing Access Site donation on the Clarks Fork Yellowstone River; · donation of a conservation easement on the Smith River; · adjustments to the Elk Plan in three elk management units in the Bitterroot area; · a road easement near Dillon. The FWP Commission will also consider acquisition of an FAS site on the Lower Yellowstone River upstream of Sidney, and the acceptance of a conservation easement on the north shore of the Missouri River. Informational items include discussion of a potential Forest Legacy conservation project on the Nevada Lake Wildlife Management Area, and native fish habitat conservation issues. A work session, where no public action is taken, begins at 1 p.m. and includes discussion on elk management, biennial quota setting, fixed hunting season dates, and water-related issues.
