Fire Restrictions Lifted in FWP Region 5

            Fire restrictions in all state parks, fishing access sites, and wildlife management areas in Fish, Wildlife and Parks (FWP) Region 5 will be lifted Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at 12:01 a.m. Stage I and II fire restrictions have been in effect in Big Horn, Carbon, Golden Valley, Musselshell, Stillwater, Sweet Grass, Wheatland, and Yellowstone Counties since mid-July. Fishing restrictions on the Yellowstone, Stillwater and Boulder Rivers were lifted in mid-August.

            Those heading afield this Sunday for the opening of antelope rifle season are reminded to use caution with firearms and while driving off-road. There are still many areas of concern and that will continue to be the case until the first snows come.
