Join Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) and Kate Senger Saturday, June 23 at 8 p.m. at Salmon Lake State Park to hear the famous tale of the Corps of Discovery’s journey through Montana.   Relive the old days and imagine what Montana and the West used to look like through the stories of Lewis & Clark.

Salmon Lake State Park is located just off Highway 83, about 10 miles south of Seeley Lake.   The event will take place at the park amphitheatre, just a short walk from the campgrounds.

Salmon Lake State Park will host a program every Saturday evening at 8 p.m. through Aug. 18.   Other upcoming programs for June and July include Lake Missoula June 30, Montana’s Unique Wildlife July 7, Native and Exotic Plants July 14, and How Fires Shape our Forests July 28.

All campfire programs are free and open to the public, so bring the family and blankets to sit on for your comfort.   For more information about this and future programs please call Naomi Alhadeff at (406) 542-5533 or email at nalhadeff@mt.gov .

Montana’s 50 State Parks provide many opportunities for the public to get out and explore the natural, cultural, and historical aspects of Real Montana.   For a full list of events scheduled at Montana State Parks this summer, please visit the FWP web site at fwp.mt.gov on the Parks and Recreation page.
