Please Use These Dates: Spring Hunter Education Courses Scheduled For Columbia Falls, Bigfork, Polson, Ronan, Kalispell And Olne

Spring Hunter Education Classes have been scheduled for Columbia Falls, Bigfork, Polson, Ronan, Kalispell, and Olney. All hunter education classes are free of charge and open to hunters and non-hunters alike.     By state law, anyone born after January 1, 1985 must have completed the Hunter Education Course to buy a hunting license in Montana.   The minimum age for hunting in Montana is 12.   A parent or guardian must accompany students under 18 to registration.   The following classes are coming up:

 

Columbia Falls: Please note the correct dates : Register at the North Valley Community Center in Columbia Falls on Tuesday, March 27,6:30-8:30 p.m. and Thursday, March 29, 6:30-8:30 p.m.    Classes will be held at the Columbia Falls High School at 7-9 p.m. on April 19,23, 24, 26, 30, and May 1, 3; Field Course is scheduled for Saturday May 5; test night is Monday May 7, 7-9 p.m.   Lead Instructor is Wade Fish, 862-6359.

 

Bigfork: Please note the correct dates: Registration and first night of class is Wednesday, April 18, 7:00 p.m. at the Bigfork High School Music Room.   Classes continue from 6-9 p.m. on April 24,26,30, May2,4. The field course will be held on Saturday, May 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.   Test night is Monday, May 7, 6-8 p.m.   Contact Harlen Johnson at 837-4455, or Jon Cuthbertson at 756-2220.

 

Polson: Register Monday, March 26, 7 p.m. at the Polson Middle School cafeteria; classes held 7-9 p.m. on March 26,27,28,29,April 2,3, and 4 at the Polson Middle School cafeteria.   Field course is on Saturday, April 14.   Call Rudd Knudsen, 883-5409, for more information.

 

Ronan/Pablo : Registration and first night of class is at Salish Kootenai College in the Beaverhead Math and Science Building, Tuesday, April 3, 7-9 p.m.   Classes continue on April 4,5,10,11,12.   Field course is Saturday, April 14.   Lead Instructor is Ray Aylesworth, 676-3501; Germaine White, 883-2888.   Call Ray or Germaine for more details.

 

Kalispell: Register Saturday, April 14, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks headquarters on North Meridian Road in Kalispell.   Evening classes are held at Flathead High School from 6-9 p.m. on April 23, 24,25,26.   Field course is held on Saturday, April 28; written test is Monday April 30, 6-8 p.m

Olney: Register beginning April 1 through April 23 at Thad’s Tackle Shop in Olney.   The course is taught 6:30 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. on May 2,3,7,8,9.   For more information call Thad Briggs at 881-2819.
