Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission To Meet March 29 In Helena

Montana’s Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission will meet March 29 at the FWP Helena Headquarters, 1420 East 6 th Ave, beginning at 1 p.m.   

The Commission will make final decisions on:

*      a rule for the Keep Cool Hills Management Area near Helena;

*      a land acquisition for the relocation of the Makoshika State Park Rifle Range near Glendive;

*         a conservation easement on Bird Creek Ranch north of Cascade;

*      Future Fisheries Improvement Program projects;

*      commercial fishing regulations on Canyon Ferry Reservoir and Lake Helena, near Helena;

*      appointments to the Glendive Paddlefish Roe Program Advisory Council; and

*      acquisition of the Kona Bridge FAS on the Clark Fork River west of Missoula.

The Commission will make a tentative decision on stocking tiger muskie in some waters in FWP regions 1, 6 and 7.

The Commission will hear informational items on upland game bird hunting dog training permits and the Scotty Brown Bridge land exchange in Powell County to increase public access to the Blackfoot River. A work session, where no public action is taken, will precede the meetings. It is set to begin at 9 a.m.
