Region 6 CAC meets to discuss legislation, shooting ranges, wildlife issues

The Region 6 Citizens Advisory Council will meet on Tuesday afternoon and evening, Jan. 23, in Glasgow to discuss a wide range of issues, including legislation that affects fish, wildlife and parks management; funding of shooting ranges in Montana; and the impact of energy development on wildlife resources.

The public is welcome to attend the meeting, which begins at 2 p.m. at the Cottonwood Inn, breaks for supper at 5:30 and resumes from 6:30 to 8 p.m. A portion of the meeting is reserved for public comments.

Members of the CAC are selected based on their geographical location and interests. Meetings are held 3 to 4 times annually in the region to advise FWP on a wide spectrum of issues. The Region 6 CAC has indicated it would like to address state parks acquisition, hunting access and landowner-sportsman relations this year, along with more than a dozen other issues.

Call FWP’s Glasgow office at 228-3700 with any questions or if you need special accommodations in order to attend the meeting.
