Montana’s Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission will meet in Missoula on Aug. 3 at the Holiday Inn Parkside, 200 South Pattee St., beginning at 8 a.m.

The FWP Commission will make final decisions on the:

*        bison regulations and quotas

*        2006 antelope quotas

*        2006/2007 furbearer regulations and quotas

*        early season migratory bird regulations

*        closure of portions of the Clark Fork and Blackfoot rivers to the general public during construction and clean up at the Milltown Dam superfund site

*        selection of an organization to auction the moose, bighorn sheep, mountain goat, deer and elk licenses.

The FWP Commission will make tentative decisions on the 2007 fishing regulations, the 2006 and 2007 late season waterfowl seasons and closures, and consider whether to initiate a rule making process on ATV use by hunters.

The FWP Commissioners will also be asked to endorse public land access corridor proposals for FWP Regions 3 and 7, and accept the donation by Stimson Lumber Co. of the nine-acre Bearmouth Fishing Access Site in Granite County.

As in past years, to protect Montana’s wild fisheries, the Commission is also expected to delegate to the FWP director the authority to close waters affected by drought.

The full agenda for the FWP Commission meeting can be found on FWP’s August 3, 2006 Commission Meeting Agenda web page.

FWP ensures its meetings are fully accessible to those with a disability. Individuals with special needs may request arrangements by contacting FWP at 406-444-3186.
