All hunters born after January 1, 1985 are required to provide proof of completing of a Montana hunter safety and education course, or a hunter safety course from any other state or province, prior to applying for or purchasing a hunting licenses, whether the hunting licenses is for the rifle or archery season.

Duplicate certificates of completion for the Montana hunter education course may be obtained from FWP’s website, Hunter Education web page.
