Fall Turkey Special Permit Application Is Aug. 1

The fall turkey special permit application deadline is Aug. 1.

Printed applications are available at all FWP regional offices and on the FWP website at fwp.mt.gov under Hunting, Obtain A License. Applicants may mail their application and a $3 nonrefundable drawing fee to the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks regional office offering the turkey hunting permits.

Applicants must have a 2005 Conservation License before applying for a fall turkey permit and successful applicants must purchase a fall turkey license to hunt.

Fall turkey applicants may select and apply for only one of the following special fall turkey permit areas:

Apply to the Region 1 Office, 490 North Meridian Rd., Kalispell MT, 59901, for:

* Lincoln County Area—150 either-sex permits * Sanders County Area—150 either-sex permits

Apply to the Region 2 Office, 3201 Spurgin Rd., Missoula, MT   59804, for:

* Bitterroot Valley Area—300 either-sex permits

Apply to the Region 3 Office, 1400 South 19th , Bozeman, MT   59718-5496, for:

* FWP Administrative Region 3—10 either-sex permits * Youth ages 12-14—two either-sex permits *  Park County—30 either-sex permits * Youth ages 12-14—two either-sex permits

The statewide fall turkey season is Sept. 1 to Jan. 1, 2006. General fall turkey hunting areas that do not require a permit are generally in eastern Montana and portions of northwestern Montana.
