Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is seeking trail recreationists to serve on the Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Advisory committee. The committee advises the agency on distribution of $160,000 of OHV Trails Program funds and various trails-related issues. "We’re looking for three new committee members with broad recreational trail backgrounds and particular interests in ATV and dirt bike riding to ensure the committee is balanced and represents a range of perspectives," said Ray Paige, FWP motorized trails program specialist. Volunteers will serve three-year terms and meet twice a year. The OHV Advisory Committee is made up of five delegates, appointed by the director of FWP, representing trail-users interests including ATV and dirt bike riding. Other committee participants include representatives of the U. S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and FWP. Those interested may apply in an email or letter that includes: 1) name, address, telephone number and email address, if available; 2) types of trail activities in which you participate and how often; 3) involvement with trail motorized projects and programs; 4) names of trail organizations to which you belong; 5) talents and experience you would bring to the committee; and 6) your philosophy and perspectives regarding motorized trail use.
