FWP Commission Approves Blackfoot River Special Recreation Permit Program

The Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission recently approved a new special recreation permit for commercial use, competitive events, or organized group activities on the Blackfoot River and adjacent lands managed by FWP.

The special recreation permit program, which begins April 1, will enable FWP to manage group sizes on the river and at river access sites. Permit applications will require information on the type and level of use planned, time frame and location on the river.

Permit information and application forms can be obtained at the FWP Region 2 Missoula office at 3201 Spurgin Road, or by calling the FWP Blackfoot River ranger Chris Lorentz at 406-677-6804.
