Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is seeking public comment by March 25 on tentative changes to a rule that sets State Parks fees through 2006. The FWP Commission approved tentative changes that would: * reduce the camping fee at Tongue River Reservoir State Park from $15 to $12, * change the nonresident daily entrance fee from $2 per person to $5 per vehicle at Bannack State Park near Dillon, * add a group-use shelter fee at Lake Elmo State Park near Billings and at Wayfarers State Park near Big Fork, * establish the Blackfoot River special recreation permit system and fee structure for commercial use, organized groups and competitive events, and * add the standard fishing access site camping fees of $7 per night for fishing license holders and $12 per night for non-fishing license holders at five FAS’s. The FWP Commission will make a final decision on the rule at its April 14 meeting. Go to the FWP web site to review the full text of the Montana State Parks Fee Rule, or request a copy by calling 406-444-3750.
