Montana’s Future Fisheries review panel will meet in Missoula, Thursday, July 22, at 8 a.m., at the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks office, 3201 Spurgin Rd.

At the meeting, panel members will discuss 12 project applications requesting about $195,000 for fish-habitat improvements.

The Future Fisheries review panel evaluates lake and stream restoration proposals and recommends projects to the FWP Commission for funding.  Since 1995, Montana’s fisheries have benefited from more than $7 million in improvements and about 300 individual projects have been completed.

Applications for the next funding cycle are due Jan. 1, 2005, and detailed files on projects recommended by the Future Fisheries review panel are available from the FWP Fisheries Division in Helena by calling 406-444-2449.  Applications can also be printed from the FWP web site by going to www.fwp.state.mt.us under the Habitat section.
