Montana’s Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission will meet in Miles City on Wednesday, May 12, beginning at 8 a.m. at the FWP regional office, Industrial Site West. The commission will make final decisions on: · Re-issuing the non-resident deer combination licenses that were split away from the big game combination licenses; and on · an amendment to the hunter safety rule to make it consistent with the new law requiring any person born after Jan. 1, 1985 to complete a hunter safety course before purchasing a Montana hunting license. The 2004 deer, elk and antelope quotas will be tentatively set. Other agenda items include: · an amendment to the record of decision on the wolf environmental impact statement to enable limited management of wolves, recognizing the delay in delisting the wolf; · an update on internet license sales; and · information on a private landowner’s request to withdraw 600 acres of ranch land from the Teton Spring Creek Preserve near Choteau.
