Are you coming up short on tax-free charitable contributions on your 2003 tax return? Consider two easy-to-make contributions that will help Montana’s fish and wildlife.

The easiest is to check the box on your 2003 Montana return under the soaring eagle symbol. A check mark here allows you to automatically make a tax-deductible contribution to Montana’s nongame wildlife programs and wildlife viewing opportunities in the state. Your contribution becomes a deduction on your 2004 tax return.

Another easy-to-make choice is a tax-free donation to the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Foundation earmarked for the TIP-MONT Program.

TIP-MONT, administered by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, enlists outdoorsmen and women in reporting crimes they observe involving the state’s fish, wildlife and State Parks resources.

Callers to the TIP-MONT line (1-800-847-6668) report crimes they observe in the outdoors and relay important details only first-hand observers might have. Callers may remain anonymous and still qualify for cash rewards if the leads result in an arrest.

Individuals or organizations interested in supporting the TIP-MONT program may mail contributions to: Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Foundation, Attn: TIP-MONT, P.O. Box 200701, Helena, MT 59620-0701. To learn more about the MFWPF go to the FWP home page at www.fwp.state.mt.us and click on the MFWP Foundation logo at the bottom of the homepage.
