Montana’s 60-day comment period on the state’s draft wolf management plan environmental impact statement will close Monday, May 12.

FWP opened public comment on five wolf conservation and management plan alternatives with the release of the 288-page EIS in March. The agency has since hosted work sessions in 14 communities to gather public comment on the plan.

FWP will select one of the alternatives, or craft a new alternative that combines elements of the others based on public comment, to manage the state’s recovered wolf population.

Comment cards are available at all FWP offices. Or visit www.fwp.state.mt ; or write to: Wolf Plan EIS, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, 490 North Meridian Rd.; Kalispell, MT 59901.

The draft EIS, and related wolf management information and comment areas, are available via FWP’s website at: www.fwp.state.mt.us . Click on Montana Wolf Management in the Hot Topics box. To request a copy of the draft EIS, call 406-444-2612.
