Montana’s Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission will meet Thursday, March 13, in Helena at the FWP headquarters building on 1420 East Sixth Ave., beginning at 8 a.m. Final decisions will include the selection of Future Fisheries Projects for funding and appointments to the Caviar Selection Grant Committee, a group that approves projects submitted to the Glendive Chamber for funding by the Yellowstone Caviar Project. The Commission also will make a tentative decision on special regulations creating a commercial carp permit on Canyon Ferry Lake. Informational updates are scheduled for the remainder of the day on a variety of topics including: the River Recreation Advisory Council’s work; landowner incentive projects; lands issues; the schedule for revising fishing regulations for the 2004-2005 seasons; the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation’s land and habitat conservation work and a scheduled presentation by Pheasants Forever. Updates will also be made on wolf, sage grouse and elk management plans that are underway.
