Trapping, one of Montana’s oldest trades, will be featured during the third annual Youth Trapper Camp scheduled June 14, 15 and 16 in the Bears Paw Mountains, south of Havre. The three-day camp for youth ages 8 to 18 is sponsored by the Montana Trappers Association, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks and Montana 4-H. Instructors will provide camp attendees with hands on instruction on trap setting, fur handling, trapping ethics, sportsman/landowner relationships, health and safety on the trapline, furbearer identification, trapping regulations and outdoor skills. The camp fee is $40 and covers the cost of all meals, snacks and educational materials. The first 60 youth applicants will receive a $20 scholarship. The camp is family oriented and parents are welcome to attend. For more information or to request a registration packet by mail, contact Jim or Fran Buell, P.O.
