Hunters have until June 1 to submit applications to Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks for antelope licenses, deer B licenses, and special elk and deer permits that are annually awarded through special drawings. To apply for a special permit, you must have already purchased a Conservation License and, if applying for an elk permit, must purchase an Elk License before submitting an application for the special drawing. Be sure to check individual hunting district regulations for specific requirements.

FWP reminds hunters participating in the special drawings that many of the License and Permit Type Codes throughout the 2002 regulation books for Deer, Elk, Antelope have been changed. The License and Permit Type Codes are two-digit extensions on Hunting District numbers. The extensions represent the different types of hunting opportunities available in a particular district. This year the codes have been modified to make them consistent in all the hunting districts and among the seven FWP regions.

Regulations are available at all FWP offices and license agents. To assist in planning a hunt, FWP’s new interactive hunt planner is on-line at fwp.state.mt.us.
