The Montana Bowhunters Association, in partnership with Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, will conduct its fourth annual Discover The Outdoors Camp for single-parent families June 28, 29 & 30. The camp is provided free of charge to parent-child pairs that will be selected to attend. The camp is designed for youth 11-15 years of age and their single parent or guardian to provide them with opportunities to try different outdoor skills. Participants gain confidence in nature, an appreciation for the outdoors, and learn natural resource ethics. Attendees will participate in activities such as camping, outdoor cooking, bow and gun shooting, fishing, and evening educational programs. The camp will be held at the Fish, Wildlife & Parks’ Beartooth Game Range facility near Holter Lake between Helena and Great Falls. Campers will stay in cabins and need only bring a sleeping bag or bedding and clothes appropriate for being outdoors. Applications will be accepted up to June 1 and can be obtained by contacting Stan Rauch, DTOC Coordinator, at (406) 642-6639 or e-mail rauch@bigsky.net.
