Looking for a special gift that captures the spirit of Montana, endures throughout the year, and can be shared by the recipient?  The Early Bird State Parks Passports, on sale Dec. 1 at Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks headquarters in Helena and regional offices, are a great way to give "Montana" for the holidays.  The annual windshield decal—with the FWP logo celebrating Montana’s state bird, the Meadow Lark—allows unlimited entrance into state parks without paying a daily fee each time, even when visiting without a vehicle.  The decals also provide a $4 reduction in camping fees at state parks.

"When giving the State Parks Passport as a gift, just include the sales receipt.  Parks visitors can keep the receipt in their wallet and bicycle or walk in, too," says Doug Monger, FWP Parks Division administrator.  "The passport is an ideal way to share the riches of Montana with friends, while also supporting the operations and maintenance of these special places."

The passport, offered at a reduced rate from Dec. 1 through Feb. 15, 2002, is $20 and $12 for additional decals, up to two.  When buying more than one Park Passport at the same time, it is necessary to have the vehicle registration(s) available.
