If you are planning to bowhunt this fall, and haven’t attended Montana’s Bowhunter Education classes, July is your last chance for 1999. Opportunities to take those classes this year will end July 31. As a reminder: * All resident and nonresident youths, 12 through 17 years of age, are required to present a Montana Hunter Education Certificate when purchasing any hunting license. Those same youths are also required to present a Bowhunter Education Certificate to purchase a bow and arrow license. * Adult bowhunters must show a previous year’s license that allowed them to bowhunt in any state or province or a certificate from a bowhunter education course. Those bowhunters who cannot show proof of any year’s license must complete a Bowhunter Education Course. The only exception would be for those bowhunters who possessed the immediate prior year’s (1998) bowhunting license from any state or province may purchase a 1998 duplicate/affirmation ($5 fee) and use the duplicate to purchase a 1998 stamp. This applies to both resident and nonresident hunters. For a schedule of Bowhunter Education classes near you, contact your nearest FWP office.
