FWP announced today that there are a limited number of surplus deer and elk permits and antelope and deer B licenses that will go on sale September 7. The licenses will be sold first-come, first-served by mail only from the Helena Headquarters through September 17. After the 17th, remaining licenses will be sold first-come, first-served in the regions for which the licenses are valid. Hunters who drew an antelope or deer B license or elk permit through FWP’s 1999 special drawings cannot purchase a similar surplus license. Resident applications for surplus licenses, which include a list of hunting districts where the licenses and permits remain, will be available at most license agents and all FWP offices the week of August 23. Nonresident applications, which also include a list of districts for which licenses and permits remain, are available from any FWP office. All applications received before September 7 will be considered as having been received on the 7th. Listed below are those districts where surplus licenses are available for residents.
