The Parks Division of Fish, Wildlife and Parks is again sponsoring a statewide poster contest for students in 5 th grade. This year’s theme is "Who once lived in Montana State Parks…historic homes of our parks."

The contest is only open to 5 th graders, and is meant to enhance a student’s understanding and awareness of state parks.

The deadline is April 7. Winners will be announced April 14.

Prizes will be a $150 savings bond for first place, a $100 savings bond for second place, and a $50 savings bond for third place. All finalists will receive T-shirts. The school submitting the winning poster will receive a free FWP video and book for its library. Winning entries will be displayed in the front lobby at the Helena headquarters and all regional headquarters around the state. The winning entry may also be used as a T-shirt print, a model for posters, or any other item the Parks Division decides is appropriate.

Judging will take into account: creativity, imagination, theme, originality, design, use of color and control of medium.

For more information, contact the Parks Division in Helena at 444-3750 or 444-4701.
