FWP Commission To Meet September 8 In Livingston

The Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission will meet Friday, Sept. 8 in Livingston. At the meeting, the commission will, among other matters, consider:

  • funding for 15 Future Fisheries projects that total $232,000;
  • a lease renewal on the Blackfoot-Clearwater Wildlife Management Area;
  • adoption of Waterfowl Regulations for the Flathead Indian Reservation;
  • adoption a Bonus Point Preference System for hunters who apply for special big game hunting licenses; and
  • the tentative adoption of a proposed annual rule for the sale of nonresident big game and deer combination licenses in 2001.
The commission will also discuss the Flathead Lake Management Plan; Conservation Easements; and Department of Conservation and Natural Resources leases. At its work session, during which no official action is taken, the commission will discuss fires, use restrictions and related issues; nonresident upland game bird hunters; big game season scoping issues; the Beaverhead and Big Hole River committee discussions, and Western Fishing District boat rules. Friday’s meeting, which will begin at 8 a.m. and is open to the public, will be held at the Federation of Flyfishers International Fly Fishing Center, 215 E. Lewis St. in Livingston.
