Women's "Winter Workshop" To Be Offered

If finding a Christmas gift for the outdoorswoman on your list has you stumped, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks has the answer. Why not give her something she is sure to love, and that will pay dividends for years to come? FWP is offering a winter workshop in 2001 as part of its highly popular "Becoming an Outdoors Woman" program. Ice fishing, cross-country skiing and winter survival are some of the "hot" topics covered in the classes being offered Feb. 9-11 at the University of Montana’s Lubrecht Forest, 30 miles east of Missoula off U.S. Highway 200. At the workshop, women also can attend classes on snowshoe techniques, animal identification and participate in an avalanche rescue. An extension of FWP’s "Becoming an Outdoors Woman" program, the workshops introduce adult women to new outdoor skills and helps to improve the existing skills of those who already pursue some winter outdoor activities. But best of all, the workshops are a fun way to learn skills that could help make the next winter out- door adventure safer and more enjoyable.
