The FWP Commission adopted final moose, sheep, goat and mountain lion quotas that are mainly unchanged from last year. Bighorn sheep quotas were increased by 1 to 4 sheep, depending on the district, in the following Sheep Districts: 213-00, 283-02,422-00, 423-00, 424-000. The quota was increased from 1 adult ewe to 10 in Sheep District 680-02 because of an increased number of sheep in that area. Mountain goat quotas increased in the Absaroka Mountains south east of Livingston and the Crazy Mountains north of Livingston because population counts show these herds can support a higher quota. Mountain lion quotas remain essentially the same as last year, however more males than females will be taken in some Lion Hunting Districts because of reduced numbers of female lions in these districts. The FWP Commission also tentatively adopted deer, elk and antelope quotas. The Deer B License quotas increased in 22 districts where the deer population is above objective or where there is the potential for game damage. Those hunting districts with quota increases are: 326-00, 330-00, 400-00, 404-00, 405-00, 406-00, 411-00, 412-00, 418-00, 419-00, 426-00, 432-00, 447-00, 448-00, 502-00, 530-03, 570-00, 575-00, 580-00, 590-00, 597-00, and 690-00. Elk quotas remain similar to last year in most areas. Antelope surveys in late July will dictate final recommendations for antelope quotas. The only change in the Webless Migratory Bird Regulations is a new date, July 10, when hunters must have their applications in for special limited Sandhill Crane permits.
