The Second Annual Youth Trapper Camp will be June 15, 16, and 17 at Beaver Creek Park in the Bears Paw Mountains south of Havre. Sponsored by the Montana Trappers Association, in cooperation with Montana 4-H and Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, the camp classes are geared to the young trappers ages 8 18. Top instructors in the state will be there to teach safe and ethical techniques to harvest fur. Participants will receive the "NTA Trappers Handbook", the "Get Set to Trap Workbook", "Fox Trapping" by John Graham, and the "Furbearer ID" booklet. The registration fee is $40 per camper, which covers the cost of all materials and six meals for the weekend. FWP will offer a $20 scholarship to the first 60 youth campers to sign-up. The registration deadline for those applying for a scholarship is April 18, and the general registration deadline is May 15. Attendees should bring an RV, camper trailer, tent or other accommodation.
