A public tour of the land area known as the Dutchman Wetland, located one mile west of Warm Springs, will be offered Wednesday, Aug. 9th. The soft-shell turtle population appears healthy and biologists from several agencies are gathering data over a 5-year period to determine the relative abundance of the population. USDA Wildlife Services investigated a dead ewe on Wednesday, July 19th on a ranch south of Jordan, MT, in Garfield County. Based on the feeding pattern and canine marks, USDA Wildlife Services determined that a wolf or wolf-like canid was probably responsible. The ewe was killed July 17th.
