The Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies was founded in 1902 as a quasi-governmental organization of public agencies charged with the protection and management of North America's fish and wildlife resources.

Montana Trapper's Association
The Montana Trappers Association represents trappers of Montana to protect our trapping heritage and lifestyle; is dedicated to the conservation & management of Montana’s furbearing animals; offers trapping and fur handling training and education, a Youth Trapper Camp, a fur auction, scholarships, & a unified voice in meetings with FWP on trapping issues; offers a $300 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction for illegal trapping or snaring activities.

Montana Wildlife Federation
Organized in 1935, the Montana Wildlife Federation (MWF) is Montana's largest and oldest grassroots organization dedicated to the promotion of wildlife, sustainable wildlife habitat, and wildlife related recreational opportunities.  The MWF is the statewide voice for sportsmen and sportswomen and works for the preservation of our hunting and fishing heritage.

Operates the largest private system of nature sanctuaries in the world--more than 1,500 preserves in the United States alone. Some are postage-stamp size, others cover thousands of acres. All of them safeguard imperiled species of plants and animals.

Teaming With Wildlife

Whirling Disease Foundation
The Whirling Disease Foundation coordinates a national effort to combat whirling disease. Each year, the Foundation, Trout Unlimited, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and other sponsors host an annual Whirling Disease Symposium bringing scientists and mangers together to discuss the latest whirling disease research and plan future research priorities.
