The hatchery is named after its water supply, a spring with a distinctive blue color, and 58°F water. Fish from this station are generally stocked in the south, central and eastern sections of the state. Arlee, Eagle Lake and Erwin strains of rainbow trout, Yellowstone cutthroat and grayling are reared annually.
Bluewater Springs Trout Hatchery Hatchery is located on Bluewater Creek 12 miles from the mouth on the left hand side as you face down stream.
Bluewater Springs Hatchery is located 8.5 miles east of Bridger, Montana. Turn east at the only flashing yellow light in the center of town. Cross the river and railroad tracks. Then take an immediate left onto the oil road. After one mile leave the oil road at the intersection and turn onto East Bridger road straight over the hill past the power substation. Six more miles through sage brush covered hills and flats on the gravel and gumbo road to Bluewater Crk Road and take a right over the (Lat 45.332, Lng -108.803)
