Giant Springs
State Park on the Missouri River
Set aside a whole afternoon to experience this scenic and historic freshwater springs site. First recorded by the Lewis and Clark Expedition in 1805, it is one of the largest freshwater springs in the world, flowing at a measured 156 million gallons of water per day! This day-use park gives you an opportunity to picnic by the Missouri River, visit the fish hatchery and visitor center, walk along the Rivers Edge Trail, view nearby Rainbow Falls overlook, or visit the neighboring Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center operated by the U.S. Forest Service.

Giant Springs State Park is located on the Missouri River 2108 miles from the mouth on the right hand side as you face down stream. White Bear is the next access site up stream from Giant Springs. Widow Coulee is the next site down stream from Giant Springs. Giant Springs is one of 27 FWP managed sites on the Missouri River. .
From Interstate 15, take Central Avenue (Exit 280). Proceed east on Central Avenue and turn left on River Drive immediately after crossing the Missouri River. Continue on River Drive 3.5 miles. Turn left onto Giant Springs Rd. Giant Springs State Park is located approximately 1 mile ahead, on the left. (Lat 47.53, Lng -111.232)
