To improve the waterfowl production potential of the land, and to provide and maintain public hunting and recreational access to the lake.

From Helena, travel north on Interstate 15 for approximately 9 miles and exit to the Lincoln Road interchange. Turn right onto Lincoln Road east (Route 453) for approximately 2.5 miles, turn right (south) onto the Lake Helena WMA. Park at kiosk.   (Lat 46.701,  Lng  -111.97)

Lake Helena is open to day-use, walk-in access yearlong and the following restrictions are to help minimize disturbance to winter resting waterfowl, spring/summer nesting, brood-rearing and molting of waterfowl and shorebirds. The road from the kiosk to the lake (approximately 80 meters) is open for hand-launching of boats from September 1 to the end of waterfowl season (usually the middle of January.) All vehicles MUST park at the kiosk parking lot. Pets MUST be on a leash or under complete voice control at all times.
