Access to the river is difficult.

Tarkio East Fishing Access Site is located on the Clark Fork River 165 miles from the mouth on the left hand side as you face down stream. Cyr Bridge is the next access site up stream from Tarkio East. Tarkio is the next site down stream from Tarkio East. Tarkio East is one of 24 FWP managed sites on the Clark Fork River. .
