Starting about March of 2001 coverages moved to Montana State Library NRIS for maintenance. GCDB now used to create takeoff points for certificates of survey and as snap features for entry of aliquot parts. DRGs used where no other digital information available. See SRCTYPE and COMMENT item of the coverage pat file for each parcel. Entered more parcels as part of maintenance and updates to existing parcels. All work done in Stateplane Single Zone NAD83 feet coordinates.

Parcels are added using two distinct method; 1) an adjacent parcel whether a new addition to an existing parcel or a new parcel touching an existing parcel of a different management type are COGO'd or digitized directly into the coverage maintained in Stateplane Single Zone NAD83 feet (master). 2) a new parcel not adjacent to an existing parcel is COGO'd into a new coverage alone and 'put' into the master coverage. For internal use and distribution the 'master' coverage is projected to Stateplane Single Zone NAD83 meters and topology rebuilt.
