Access roads have some wet and damaged locations. Limited access for trailers and RV's. There is limited access to the concrete boat launch - only useable during high flows; trailers and RV's proceed with caution (rough road). Newly developed site at the downstream end has gravel parking area, gravel boat ramp and vault latrine.

Elk Island Fishing Access Site is located on the Yellowstone River 52 miles from the mouth on the right hand side as you face downstream.  Intake Dam is the next access site upstream from Elk Island. 


Hwy 16, 1 mile north of Savage, east 2 miles on county road.
