Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks conducts research and monitoring on many popular fishing destinations throughout the state. Throughout the year, FWP personnel compile, analyze, and summarize field data to detect fish population trends, evaluate how the fishery is changing, and what factors influence the overall population dynamics of the fishery. These reports and summaries are typically completed during the winter months, after most field data collection is concluded for the year.
