The USCG Boater Safety Day held at the Les Schwab parking lot here in Helena went well despite the weather. The rainy weather kept boats away (only a few were inspected). However, people still turned out and educational outreach was a success. A person even brought in an aquatic weed sample from a pond near her home, thinking it might be Eurasian watermilfoil. It was not, the sample was actually a very common aquatic plant found all over Montana. Overall, it was a successful day.
