Local working groups are underway around the state to carry out provisions of the Montana Sage Grouse Management Plan on a local basis. This plan was developed by livestock producers, outdoor sportsmen, biologists, and others in response to concerns about sage grouse populations. Local working groups will plan and conduct activities to benefit sage grouse populations and sagebrush habitat, tailored to community conditions and concerns. The first three groups are centered on Dillon, Glasgow, and Miles City.
