Rehabilitation Volunteers

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Montana Wildlife Center (MWC). The goal of the MWC is to return rehabilitated wildlife back to the wild. At the Center we care for mammals such as bears from around the state. Caring for these animals takes a lot of time and volunteers are the backbone of our program. There are currently three types of volunteers at the MWC:

  • Staff with basic animal care, cleaning, and maintenance of the enclosures and facility. These volunteers are required to sign up for a minimum of two feeding shifts per week from mid-June mid-September.
  • Individuals perform basic maintenance such as structural repair and grounds maintenance. These volunteers do not have required shifts and their help is needed year-round.
  • Provide interpretive educational programs to the general public and school groups as needed. These volunteers do not have required shifts and their help is needed year-round.

Below is an application for volunteering at the center. Please return your completed application to MWC, PO Box 200701, Helena, MT 59620-0701 and you will be contacted for an interview.
