All hunters born after January 1, 1985 are required to provide proof of completion of a Montana hunter safety and education course, or a hunter safety course from any other state or province, prior to applying for or purchasing a hunting licenses, whether the hunting licenses is for the rifle or archery season.

• If you need a duplicate of your Montana hunter or bow hunter education certificate, you may print it directly from your computer.
• If you need a duplicate of your certificate issued by a different state or province, you need to contact that hunter education program. For a listing of the addresses of these state programs, go to the: IHEA web site.
