|Description||Do you love hiking, but get nervous about encountering snakes on the trail? Join Dan “The Snake Man” Waitt for this informative series all about snakes. In “Be Snake Aware: Part I”, learn which species of snake call the park home, why they are important to the ecosystem, and the proper trail safety to practice when you see one. Part I will be held in the Visitor Center Classroom and is open to all ages.|
For “Be Snake Aware: Part II”, join Wiatt for a guided hike through the park. Learn where snakes like to hide and how to avoid them on the trails. Bring your camera and get some great photos while enjoying your beautiful park.
The hike will meet at the Upper Visitor Parking area. NO open toed shoes are allowed on the hike! Children 8 years and older must be accompanied by an adult and under control. Hike is limited to 20 participants. To reserve your spot, call 406-866-2217. A second hike may be offered if first hike fills up.

“Be Snake Aware: Part II” (Hike) – June 8, 2019 from 11am to 1pm
Where: First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park, 342 Ulm Vaughn Road, Ulm, MT. The park is 3.5 miles north of Ulm, just off Interstate 15 at Exit 270.
