DescriptionEnjoy a lecture about the 1979 solar eclipse, where people were told to stay inside and watch it on TV! On August 21, 2017, a total solar eclipse will cross the United States. Several states will see total darkness as the moon casts a shadow on the earth; others will see only a partial eclipse. We'll talk about viewing responsibly and how you can contribute to the body of data as a citizen scientist. This will be following by "What's up in the sky tonight?"a constellation tour and observing the night sky through telescopes. In the event of overcast skies, we will still have the lecture.
