|Brother Can you Spare a Dime?|
|Date||Saturday July 16, 2016|
|Time||1:00 PM - 2:00 PM|
Pictograph Cave State Park
|Description||Join presenter Bill Rossiter as he takes you on a musical journey through the Depression. During the Dirty 30's, network radio and Hollywood followed Washington's lead in sturdily ignoring th Depression. But the rural and small-town musicians played a different tune. Brother, Can You Spare A Dime? views the Depression, with a glance at Montana¿s early start, not through history and literature, but through the songs and "illiterature," looking at what happened to the common folks most affected by it. This performance is accompanied by banjo, guitar and autoharp.|
Program is sponsored by a grant from Humanities Montana.
