DescriptionGrizzly & Black Bear + Track ID

The Great Bear Foundation is a membership based non-profit dedicated to bear conservation and education. With offices in Missoula, MT and Haines, AK, our outreach programs are able to teach hundreds each year and provide a better understanding of bear safety and biology. We offer field courses, gleaning programs to reduce bear attractants in urban areas, educational programs for children and adults, and information on bear safety and how to live in bear country.

Elissa Chott is the office manager and outreach coordinator for Great Bear¿s Missoula office. She is an MS candidate from the University of Montana in the Environmental Studies Program with a focus on climate change and its affect on polar bears in the Churchill, MB region.

The evening¿s program will include basic bear biology, ecology of the region, bear safety, and what you can do to help bears! We will have bear hides, tracks, and skulls out for viewing.
