|First Day Hike|
|Date||Friday January 1, 2016|
Lone Pine State Park
|Description||Visitors will be guided along a variety of trails through primarily forested areas in Lone Pine State Park. They are likely to see a variety of song birds, woodpeckers, squirrels, red fox, and white-tailed deer, along with great views of the Flathead Valley as the sun sets. Visitors will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge and catch their breath at a few short interpretive stops along the way. A change in the program for 2016, we will get to see the last daily winter activities of animals, before they settle for the night. We will also be able to see the sun go down and the city lights come up!
Great hike for families. No minimum age, kids must be able to do a moderate 1-2 mile hike or be carried by parents. Dogs welcome on a leash.
Please bring a flashlight; water bottle; sturdy, warm hiking boots and dress appropriately for the weather. If there is enough snow, we will snowshoe off trail so bring snowshoes. Otherwise, we will have some snowshoes available to borrow.
