|Description||Joann Wallenburn -- Clearwater Resource Council, helps protect the Clearwater River from aquatic invasive species through the Clearwater Resource Council. The Council is sponsoring a river trip down the Clearwater to map all the aquatic species. Following the float, Wallenburn will do a "show and tell" session at Salmon Lake State Park to share what the group learned on the river. This will be a great opportunity to learn about the species that live in the clean, cold water and along the Clearwater River Trail.
Salmon Lake State Park, adjacent to Montana 83 in Western Montana, is an access point to one of the beautiful lakes in the Clearwater River chain of lakes. Plan to fish, picnic, launch your boat, and water-ski in this woodland setting of western larch, ponderosa pine and Douglas-fir. In the 2011 summer season (May-August) nearly 42,000 people visited Salmon Lake State Park.
