Missouri Headwaters State Park
|Description||This week's Summer Speakers Series at Missouri Headwaters State Park is titled "The Republic of Nature: Exploring a Forgotten Side of American History". This discussion will be led by Mark Fiege, PhD, Associate Professor of History at Colorado State University.
Dr. Fiege's talk will be based on his acclaimed book, "The Republic of Nature", in which he discusses such topics as the American Revolution; Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War; and the more recent case of Brown vs. Board of Education, based on the premise that the nation's history must be considered in the natural environment of the time.
A marshmallow roast will follow the program! Bring your own chair and meet at the picnic area of Missouri Headwaters, 1585 Trident Road, Three Forks, MT 59752. The park is located four miles north of Three Forks, just off of interstate 90. (The rain location is the United Methodis Church Annex building, 116 East Cedar Street, Three Forks, MT.)
