Park Maintenance Worker

Description of Work

Under general supervision performs a variety of tasks as lead worker to maintain state parks and fishing access sites.

Examples of Duties

Assists in park and FAS operation by providing lead presence in carrying for park infrastructure site maintenance, light construction, lawn and grounds maintenance, equipment operation and major maintenance and providing visitor information. May be required to possess commercial driver's license, be certified to apply herbicides and confined weeds.


Working knowledge of routine park operation and maintenance tasks, skill in use of small landscape maintenance equipment and construction equipment. Must be able to lead work and coordinate tasks with few written or verbal instructions. Requires the ability to work outdoors in adverse working conditions, and the ability to routinely lift and carry approximately 50 lbs. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of related work experience or technical training.
